Happy Memorial Day

Since we are fans of a fictional military group, it is only appropriate that we honor their real life counterparts.  For those of you not in the United States, Memorial Day is the official holiday for remembering those who have fallen in service to our country.
Although some people think it's another excuse for a BBQ, if it wasn't for the brave souls in our military throughout history, we wouldn't have the freedom to do so.

We didn't have as many entries for this one as we've had in the past, but some of them blew me away.  Thanks to everyone who participated!  1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes provided by Tri-Gate Creations. Participation prizes provided by Outer Rim Collectibles.  A 3rdbonus prize is being offered by Hunter Artworks.  Stay tuned to the thread to find out the results of that.

Official Joe Universe Custom Contest - April 2010

Joe Universe is premiering its fourth Custom Contest.  The theme for this one is Crossovers! This theme was voted on by you, the Joe Universe members.  The customizers' task is to cross GI Joe with another intellectual property.

This contest is open to all Joe customizers, regardless of the style of GI Joe figures you like to use. No restriction to just the 25th/ME style, and of course you can enter vehicles or dioramas as well.  New for this contest: You can create your joe characters in the style of another toyline.

Official Joe Universe Custom Contest - February 2010 - WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

This Tune In Tuesday, Joe Universe announces the winners of its third Custom Contest.  The theme for this one was Elseworlds, and it was quite popular.  We had 36 entries!  A staple of science fiction, there is the theory that many versions of this Earth exist.  It was the customizer's duty to imagine what would the GI Joes of those worlds be like.

Our contests are open to all Joe customizers, regardless of the style of GI Joe figures you like to use. No restriction to just the 25th/ME style, and of course you can enter vehicles or dioramas too!

Joe Universe Gets a Persona

Attention Firefox users! Mozilla introduced something call Personas.  It is basically a skin for your Firefox browser that can be instantly updated.  JoeUniverse.com is the FIRST GI Joe fan site to create one and upload it for you guys!  Here's how you get yours:

First, update your Firefox to 3.6 if you haven't already. (Go Help->Check For Updates and follow the instructions)
Second, go to the personas home page. click the big green button.  Follow the instructions to install the plugin.
Third, visit our personas page.  Click the big orange button to "Wear this Persona".  Viola!

I will continue to add more personas in the future.  The frst one is Cobra-themed, but fear not "good guys", I will have a GI Joe themed one done up soon.  Mozilla was nice enough to provide instructions to create your own as well.  Feel free to post your GI Joe themed personas in our Fan-Art section.
